Basildon District Arts Trail

I was invited to the pre-launch of the arts trail last week and found myself in the local paper along with other artists and the guy organising it all Dean Smith.

The Art Trail is expected to see art lovers from all over the region come to the local areas to view the work, from Thursday, September 16th to Monday, September 20th.

Fingers crossed some of my art or some of the excellent art work coming from the George Hurd Centre will be on display.

Been busy

We have been busy with re-decorating and settling the children into school, so now it is back into routine I hope to get much more work done. Here is what Krissy and I have been up to since the last blog:

As both Krissy and my niece (actually most of the women in the family) love the Twilight Books by Stephanie Meyer. Krissy painted this picture of the two main stars Edward and Isabella for my nieces 13th Birthday tomorrow.

Being absolutely gutted about Patrick Swaze's death, Krissy was inspired to paint this one, from the poster of the musical. RIP Patrick.

West Ham

For my brother-in-laws birthday, I have also started a Stoke City picture, which was requested. Not really a football fan myself except the World Cup, I didn't know if I would enjoy doing this but I like the crisp lines and the use of contrasting colours so I am definitely up for painting more.

My class

I have been working on this image with both of my art classes, using a basic sketch and building it up with water colours to completle the image - I have recieved a lot of positive comments from this class.
